Up for sale is a barely used military generator. This is a MEP 804A tatical quiet 15 kw generator. This is a fully self contained generator. It is in perfect running condition, and redy to serve a lifetime of service. Built by the Libby Corp in 05/94 this machine saw very little use. The hour meter reads 1369, which is less then 35, fourty hour work weeks. So this machine was used for a half a year. And mothballed. The machine came from the air force, which seems to take better care of the machines then the other branches of our military does.
Since I have owned it this is what I have done: New oil and filters, drained and cleaned (flushed) all the fuel system. New fuel, new fuel filters. New oil and oil filters. New matched set of brand new batteries (they are not military batteries but are just as good).
The machine has a 4 cylinder water cooled Izzuzu motor. The motor starts right up and does not smoke even on start up. The machine does not leak a drop of anything and is dry as a bone inside. The generator is a brushless design made by marathon. The generator is a 12 wire self excitation system. Capable of multi voltage from 110/220/208/416/480 single and three phase 50/60 hertz. The on board fuel tank holds 14 gallons of diesel fuel. This is capable of running on many different types of fuel such as home heating oil (#2), diesel fuel, kerosene, bio deisel, jp4,jp5,jp8, and under the right conditions peanut oil and sun flower oil. This has a on board pump that keeps the set tank full if its connected to a home heating oil tank (the pump kicks on and off when the set tank is low and after filling itself). Made to run continuously even the oil dip stick has full marks for running and stopped. The machine weighs 1885 pounds dry and is 70 inches long by 36 wideand 55 inches high
