Metrohm - 860 KF Thermoprep
The 860 KF Thermoprep is used wherever the heating of a sample and/or the thermal expulsion of moisture in solids or liquids is required. In combination with a coulometric or volumetric KF titrator, the 860 KF Thermoprep is the ideal analysis system for water content determination in samples that contain disruptive components or from which moisture can be removed only with difficulty.
One of its decisive advantages is reducing sample preparation to a minimum. Thanks to the use of hermetically sealed sample vessels (headspace vials), samples can be filled directly on-site. The PTFE-coated septa guarantee a constant, unaltered water content, even after prolonged holding times.
The sample heated in the oven module releases its moisture in the form of water vapor, which is conveyed into a measuring cell with the aid of a gas flow. An air pump is installed to generate the gas flow. An inlet valve is available for nitrogen or other inert gases. The moisture can be determined in the measuring cell either coulometrically or volumetrically using Karl Fischer titration

851 Titrando
The Titrando is the heart of the modular Titrando system. Operation is carried out either by a Touch Control with a touch-sensitive screen (standalone titrator) or by a computer with a corresponding software.
A Titrando system can contain numerous, various kinds of instruments. The following figure provides an overview of the peripheral devices you can connect to the 851 Titrando.
Up to three control instruments (Titrando, Dosing Interface, USB Sample Processor, etc.) can be controlled via USB connection during operation with the 900 Touch Control.
You can request information on special applications in the Application Bulletins and Application Notes, available free of charge via the Metrohm representative responsible. Various monographs on the subjects of titration techniques and electrodes are also available.
Updating the device software is described in the help of the corresponding PC software.

803 Ti Stand
The 803 Ti Stand with a magnetic stirrer and a built-in pump is part of the Titrando system. It is mainly used for volumetric Karl Fischer titration together with a Titrando.
The titration stand is directly connected to the Titrando via an MSB connection cable.
With the integrated membrane pump it is possible to aspirate the titeredout solutionand to add a new solvent without having to open the titration cell.
