Mfg Date was April 8, 1982. The tank number is 26553. The tank was originally sold to Grafkem Corporation in Posen, Illinois on Owens-Corning order number Q38651 and that was who I purchased the tank from last year due to company closing. Digital imagery ran them out of business since they made developing fluids for film, mostly for the medical x-ray industry. The tank was made at Plant 16 that was the Huntingdon, Pennsylvania manufacturing plant.
The tank model 83MACS indicates an "8"-foot diameter tank, "3M" for 3,000 gallons approximate capacity, "A" for above ground tank, and "C" for closed top tank. All of the above ground chemical tanks that Owens-Corning provided were made to order for the customer. This particular tank was made to a 2.1 specific gravity construction for Ammonium Thiosulfate.
