Kettles are traditionally capable of heating a product by using either a steam jacket, electric heating or gas heating and because of the hemispherical shape the distribution of heat is ideal for mixing, cooking and cooling. Kettles can be stationary with a bottom outlet or may also provide tilting to easily pour product to the next phase of a process. Kettles range from quart size to more than 1,000 gallons and are often used in industries such as food, chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and personal care.
